STANDARD FIRST AID


This two day modular course provides comprehensive first aid & CPR/AED techniques for those who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies. The course covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing, and cardiovascular emergencies, AEDs, management of a casualty, seizure and diabetic emergency to name a few. Below is a detail list of the course content. Course participants will receive a 3 year certification upon successful completion of all performance criteria and achieve a 75% on the multiple choice exam. We strongly recommend taking a annual CPR/AED refresher course.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID


This 1 day course provides the basics of First Aid and CPR/AED techniques. The course covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies. STANDARD FIRST AID RECERTIFICATION


Candidates can take a 1 day re-certification course on the third year of original certification prior to certification expiry. This session is not for re-teaching first aid or CPR rather just to review the first aid and CPR/AED skills and go over any new techniques that have changed over the past three years in CPR or first aid. Course participants will receive a 3 year certification upon successful completion of all performance criteria and achieve a 75% on the multiple choice exam. We strongly recommend taking a annual CPR/AED refresher course.

EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER


This 40 hour course is designed for professional rescuers such as Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Ski Patrollers, Lifeguards, specialized rescue teams or anyone else most likely to be first on the scene of an emergency. Students will gain skills and confidence in making critical life saving decisions and performing the appropriate medical treatment. The course will include basic life support, airway management and suctioning, oxygen administration to breathing and non-breathing casualties, splinting and immobilization techniques as well as casualty moving and transport. The student will practice focused baseline vital signs and advanced primary and secondary surveys. Other components include emergency childbirth, advanced shock treatment, heat and cold emergencies, and many more electives. Includes First Responder manual. Course participants will receive a 3 year certification upon successful completion of all performance criteria and achieve a 75% on the multiple choice exam. CPR/AED certification is only valid for one year. Annual CPR/AED training is required.

OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION


This 4-hour certification course will teach learners how to properly and safely administer oxygen to both breathing and non-breathing casualties. The skills learned will include the use of resuscitation masks, Bag Valve Masks and airway management devices. This hands-on program will allow the student to gain confidence in making appropriate decisions in treating people using this vital drug. Course participants will receive a 1 year certification upon successful completion of all performance criteria and achieve a 75% on the multiple choice exam.

This stand alone 4 hour course offers CPR/AED training which provides the rescuer with all the confidence required to respond to a cardiac arrest casualty and choking in adults.

All CPR/AED certification is valid for 3 years from date of certification however we recommend annual CPR/AED refresher course.
